SPIMEX joins ICDA, The International Commodities and Derivatives Association


SPIMEX is proud to announce the International Commodities and Derivatives Association decision to accept SPIMEX as its full member (type ‘A’).
ICDA is a non-profit association founded nearly 40 years ago, serving member banks, exchanges, CCPs, pension funds, insurance companies, trading companies, advisory firms, as well as prominent individuals employed within the global commodities and derivatives industry. ICDA is the second oldest futures industry association in the world, and the only one based in continental Europe. 
ICDA is an internationally acclaimed platform for dialogue between market players and regulators. Its main focus is on elaborating new products and platforms, developing emerging markets and exploiting opportunities and innovations affecting the future of markets worldwide. ICDA organizes international conferences, networking events for members, training programs and industry consultations.
ICDA members include major financial companies including Cinnober, Credit Suisse, Fidessa, Goldman Sachs, ICE, Integral Petroleum, Oliver Wyman, PwC, S&P, SIX, Société Générale, UBS. Among ICDA members are major derivatives exchanges from all over the world: ICE, INX, SIX, TAIFEX, etc.
ICDA is actively developing partnership relations with other market associations and organizations: CFA, China Futures Association, CFTC, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, GAFTA, Grain and Feed Trade Association, STSA, Swiss Trading and Shipping Association.
This event is a significant expansion of SPIMEX international cooperation and an important step towards further development of the Russian commodities exchange market, showing that Russian on-exchange infrastructure is open to foreign market participants, providing them sustainable and well-trusted trading and settlement services.
SPIMEX is determined to be involved in all ICDA working and training activities, and use this unique opportunity to have an active voice in the industry.

Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) is the largest Russian commodity exchange, which offers a wide range of products traded both on Commodities Market (refined products, crude oil, natural gas, LPG, timber and construction materials) and on Derivatives Market. The SPIMEX Urals Crude Futures contract has to become a core of a new pricing mechanism for exported Russian crude. SPIMEX was incorporated in 2008.
