7 May 2018: SPIMEX celebrates its 10th anniversary

Today the Saint-Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, Russia’s largest commodity exchange, marks its 10th anniversary.
Since its incorporation SPIMEX has focused on creation of the national regulated commodities market and setting a transparent price formation mechanism which ensures fair prices for key commodities produced in Russia and other members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Today, the Exchange operates the following sections: Refined Products, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Timber & Construction Materials, Mineral Fertilizers as well as the Derivatives Section which, in particular, is the marketplace for the SPIMEX Urals Crude Futures. The Exchange also registers OTC transactions in commodities at the national level and breaks ground in other markets.
The Exchange is the core of the SPIMEX Group which also includes Settlement depository company (SDCO), one of the oldest clearing houses in Russia, and TEK-Torg, one of the largest electronic trading platforms in the country.
Alexey Rybnikov, SPIMEX President: “SPIMEX successfully attains the objectives set for it by the Russian state: we have set arm’s length price indicators, traded volumes and the number  of trading participants are both rising and large-scale brand new international projects have been launched. Our business development strategy relies on strengthening of the SPIMEX Group which offers a full range of trading, clearing, information, analytic and educational services. We highly appreciate the support lent by the Government, our shareholders, customers and counterparties. And of course I would like to specifically mention and thank employees of the Exchange, paying special tribute to those who stood at the very foundation of SPIMEX. In conclusion, I wish to all of you continued success, good health and prosperity!”
